Bringing something new to the cliché-driven world of comics and creative works has never been easy. But people tend to overlook the word ‘easy’ and ‘hard’. This is where we step in. MANTERAWORKS dared themselves to take this challenge wanting to break all borders and barriers. Their elemental hymn for exertion is as simple as A/B/C/D:

MANTERAWORKS is a creative and collaborative team effort to unleash the ultimate willpower and generate the very best of the best in everything and anything that creative people do best. Or in simpler words, ‘doing whatever it takes’ to make things done. NO SCHEDULE, NO DATELINES and NO TIMETABLE. Just making dreamplans function in this part of reality where fun and work collides!

Just take it as an Essential playground for anyone who wants to craft and capture art excitement. MANTERAWORKS is really about our ideas, our inspirations and our insights for visionary creations with endless possibilities over infinite, inventive and imaginative landscapes.

HISTORY

What is MANTERAWORKS?

MANTERAWORKS gathers THIRTEEN of Malaysian’s ambitious and determined comic book artist and illustration professionals in a form of a virtual studio. Each and every one of the artists chooses to expose and represent their skills and talents for the world to share. They’ve embraced manual methods and modern technologies in their line of work. Instantaneous idea is critically complex and vitally important for them. Visual storytelling is the bond that ties them together and they are each capable of capturing the essence in every sensible way.

First conceived as a knockoff and fun way to hang out with fellow comic creators and friends during afterwork hours, MANTERAWORKS began as a consolidation of flair into a single stretch of resolution in various hangout sessions and meetings. This allowed them to share ideas and recent work with peers and partners alike.

From comics and books to promotional and production work and beyond- the MANTERAWORKS sketchbook displays piles of ideas for compositions and gut reactions to draw from 13 CREATORS bound by the desire to do one thing –
WORK THEIR INNER MANTERA!

The first time the idea of forming something like MANTERAWORKS arose somewhere in 2007 when Dzulfeqar@ZOOL, Faizal Mukhtar, Gecko and Nanzo have a chitty-chatter right past a hard day work at the office. The name was born but it took about 9 other players and creators of increasing skills and also specialization; forming the perfect equivalent who wanted to join MANTERAWORKS. When the idea of a creative network becomes specific, it is now a mutual consent. MANTERAWORKS has the ability to handle particular projects in a wide range.
